Perez Hilton is reporting that "American Idol" reject Sanjaya's mother is a convicted pot dealer. According to Perez, Mrs. Malakar was arrested in 2005 with 310 marijuana plants and sentenced to 30 days in jail, forcing Sanjaya to live with his aunt temporarily.

On this season of "American Idol," Sanjaya was asked about living with his aunt and responded by saying that his mother was moving away and he didn't want to leave his school friends.
